TITLE: Senior Manager, Logistics, Planning, & Performance Management
LOCATION: Miami, FL
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time

PURPOSE:
Working with the Vice President Distribution and Logistics, this position exists to drive improved operational performance through the implementation of Performance Reporting, Logistics Business Analytics and Lean Sigma-based operational improvement initiatives. Operational performance includes improved quality, profitability, and productivity; determining the best use of people, processes and technologies to ensure supply chain reliability, speed, convenience and the best perceived value to the customer at the lowest possible cost.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Performance Reporting
  • Develop and institutionalize appropriate metrics including dashboards, scorecards and productivity reporting
  • Organize and participate in scorecard and project reviews of customer focused improvement initiatives
  • Determine key drivers to reach key organizational performance goals
  • Business Analytics
  • Routinely evaluate key performance indicators for performance trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Implement logistics activity profiling techniques; retail-outlets, inventory, vendor, transportation providers and distribution centers
  • Leverage business analytics to identify strategic projects that result in overall performance improvements; adding to PriceSmart’s logistics capabilities and/or competitive advantage
  • Operational Improvement
  • Responsible for logistics project planning, management and reviews
  • Generate ideas and/or identify best project opportunities that impact overall logistics performance improvement
  • Lead process improvement teams in determining root cause and correction in resolving key quality/productivity issues
  • Develop and deliver training to project champions and process owners
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance process improvement methodologies, root cause identification and change management

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

Note: These areas of experience cover all aspects of the position. No one candidate is expected to meet all the qualifications below. However, preference will be given to the candidates based on how well they meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 year distribution experience required
  • Previous experience/knowledge of distribution center practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership, administrative, organizational analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to interact and build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Proficiency in common business analysis tools (i.e. MS-Excel. Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with planning and implementing change
  • Track record of driving sustainable performance improvement within the supply chain
  • Strong productivity and process management background
  • Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma (preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required
  • Time flexibility, ability to work different shifts
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 50 lbs
  • Position is based in Miami, Florida
