TITLE: FFE Buying Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Facility and Maintenance Management Division
LOCATION: Miami, FL
REPORTS TO: Primarily to FFE Buyer, secondly to FFE Assistant Buyer
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt

PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the position is to handle the Purchasing of Repair Parts, Supplies, and Small Wares for all Pricesmart Clubs as well as handle the inventory of Stock Parts consigned in Miami Dist. Center.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Integrate PriceSmart philosophy and the Six Rights of Merchandising, applied to Facility and Maintenance matters
  • Prepare quotes and purchase orders following department procedures
  • Handle flow of paperwork from customers, vendors, shipping/receiving and accounting
  • Maintain accurate records of stock inventory
  • Maintain vendor and item information records up to date
  • Confirm pricing on all orders when placed
  • Communicate with Buyer and Assistant Buyer on problem vendors and items
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all vendors and company personnel
  • Other duties as required or requested

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

Note: These areas of experience cover all aspects of the position. No one candidate is expected to meet all the qualifications below. However, preference will be given to the candidates based on how well they meet the following qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in buying environment
  • Experience in buying replacement/repair parts, and supplies
  • Experience with technical equipment- electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC background desirable
  • Previous experience in handling inventory and shipping and receiving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Motivated to learn about the club operation, equipment, and international logistics
  • Able to take direction and accomplish tasks with minimum supervision
  • Experience with AS/400 preferred
  • Strong Word & Excel skills required
  • Strong Math Skills
  • Minimal travel required
  • Honesty / Integrity / Fairness / Talent & Passion / Entrepreneurialism / Teamwork & Communication / Accountability to Mission
  • Organized
  • Attention to Detail
  • Strong follow-up skills
