Introducing our New Logo

 

Dear Member,

 

As you are our valuable Member we are pleased to announce that as from November 8th, we are changing our logo as part of our brand identity refreshing strategy, starting with PriceSmart.com and gradually throughout all of our clubs. This step’s major idea is to strengthen our growth and commitments by helping our customers identify with our brand in the marketplace.

Last year we began the process of interviewing our Members, employees and referral sources to better understand their views of PriceSmart and what truly makes us stand out to them. The feedback was invaluable and there was a resounding consistency that we took to heart and used to embody our brand refresh.

 

As we celebrated our 25th anniversary this October 2021, we are incredibly humble and proud that we have become an integral part of every community in which we operate, offering the best shopping experience to more than 3 million Members across nearly 50 locations.

 

The new identity is a refreshing update to the original PriceSmart logo from our founding and features a modern design that highlights several of our key attributes and values that our research uncovered: our brand is dependable, resourceful, determined, honest, community-minded, caring, energetic and imaginative. More importantly, our new brand image puts a face to the people at the heart of our business: our Members, employees and communities.

 

The new logo is represented by the sun, which connects to Sol Price, our founder and guiding force and the roots of PriceSmart, and is a positive and optimistic symbol that represents life and growth, shared by all countries and cultures. It features a stylized human figure in the inner shape of the sun and comes to represent the high importance of our relationships with our suppliers, our Members and our employees. The gradient color of the sun emphasizes this figure, being brighter in the center and transitioning to a darker color at the ends of the sunbeam.

 

In tandem with the new logo design are the new colors. Our blue represents confidence, having been associated with PriceSmart since its inception. The red color has been updated to be a reddish orange, appearing in the sun symbol in a gradient that is brighter in the center and darker at the ends of the sun's rays.

While we have a new look, PriceSmart is also still the original Member club that provides the lowest unit prices on a curated selection of the best quality items and services in a reliable, fun and safe shopping experience. 

 

PriceSmart remain committed to providing all Members with the same exceptional level of service, respect, and dedication to quality on which we have built our company over decades.

Statement

 

To ensure our Members have uninterrupted access to fresh food and the basic goods needed during these difficult times, and in collaboration and support to the government efforts and other health authorities of Trinidad and Tobago to contain the spread of the virus, effective today May 7th until May 23rd , PriceSmart is making the following adjustments in its clubs in Trinidad and Tobago:

 

  • Only groceries and essential items will be available for purchase. Non-essential goods won’t be available for sale.
  • Our club hours of operation might vary and will be subject to change, depending on the evolution of the current situation.
  • We are limiting the capacity of our clubs: only one person per Membership can enter the club.

We will be enforcing social distancing and safety protocols.


Thank you in advance for your cooperation in following these guidelines and preventive measures to maintain a safe place for our employees and Members.

We encourage you to visit our website PriceSmart.com and place your order online for curbside pickup or home delivery, to reduce the risk of any exposure to the virus and break the chain of infection. Please note that the essential items sale limitations, also applies to online purchases.

Please note that as foreign currency becomes less available, our regular sourcing and merchandising of imported goods may be affected in our Clubs.

We want to express our commitment on maintaining our business model of providing the highest quality merchandise and services at the lowest cost possible, as we work out solutions that can sustain or substitute our imported merchandise offering.

We understand the value that our selection of items delivers, and we are working diligently to restore any changes to our member's regular shopping cart.

Today we learned that an employee at our Port of Spain Club, in Trinidad, has been diagnosed with COVID-19.  That person is isolated and in good medical care. All relevant procedures were promptly activated, including but not limited to:

 

• Potentially exposed employees were identified and sent them home on quarantine.

• Deep clean was performed with a certified cleaning service company.

• Health authorities were notified and we followed guidelines outlined by them.

Dear Member,

PriceSmart has received notice from local health authorities that an employee of the San Fernando Warehouse Club, that was preventively quarantined, has been confirmed with COVID-19. That employee is under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and is doing well. 

 

As COVID-19 cases rise we want to let our members know that:

 

• Potentially exposed employees have been identified and have followed the Ministry of Health’s direction of preventive quarantine and testing.

• With the current COVID test confirmation, the entire facility and all equipment and surfaces will be sanitized again today, therefore the club will remain closed to the public during this time.  We will re-open tomorrow during normal hours.

• PriceSmart routinely sanitizes all aspects of its operations including the facility and equipment in accordance with established global guidelines.

• If it’s confirmed that an employee tests positive for Covid 19, PriceSmart will continue to communicate with members via our website, e-mail and in club.

• We will continue to work alongside the health authorities and follow local guidelines.

For the Health and Safety of our Members and Employees please note the following:

 

From our side:

 

  • We are continually educating our employees on the proper health and safety procedures, to protect us all.
  • We are vigorously cleaning all surfaces and spaces, and providing hand sanitizer throughout the club.
  • We may place purchase limits on certain items that are in short supply, to serve the maximum number of members.
  • We are replenishing our merchandise as quickly as possible. That may involve changing brand and sizes that are typically provided.
  • We are limiting the amount of members in the building to avoid overcrowding.
  • Given this exceptional situation, certain in-club services might be temporarily closed

 

We appreciate your collaboration:

  • If possible, please keep a 1-meter distance from other members and club employees while shopping.
  • If possible, only one family member should access the club, allowing for more members to shop.
  • If possible, avoid bringing children to the club.
  • If possible, avoid cash payment. Consider the use of contactless credit cards.
  • In some clubs, we are expanding hours of operation to accommodate extended shopping. In other clubs, we may reduce hours of shopping to comply with local regulations.
